This letter from Maritza Martinez, who is the Executive Administrator and Head of Division of the Second Chance Program Southern Wing, tells us a little about the program. They carefully select candidates for the program that they believe can be rehabilitated and re-enter society after either retrial or acquittal. They provide treatment for any physical or mental health problem the patients have while they are in their care and also provide them with lawyers for their case. The patients still participate in the letter writing program that the rest of the LFoA program is known for in hopes that the writing will help put the patients on the path of recovery and healing.
