Substitution Cypher

The Jasper letter has the following written at the bottom:

After researching the degrees on a circle I found this image:

It shows the exact equations that our cypher contains. When coupled with the grasshopper print we can find the corresponding points with the degrees and our cypher sentence reads:

Rail Fence Cypher

This is a Rail Fence Cypher that uses not only rows but also a cycle of units. First we must add how many units (letters) we have in our cypher. In this case we have 13 units (letters). According to Sylvia's letter our row height is 3 and our cycle of units is 4. We will divide the total units by the cycle of 4. 13 ÷ 4 = 3.25. We will have to round down making the cycle 3 but we will have to add the partial cycle to the top row making the top row have 4 units. So we will write our first four units (letters) across the page:

For the middle row we will calculate the total number of whole cycles by 2. 3 × 2 = 6. This will be how many units (letters) in the middle row, including our apostrophe.

For the last row we will multiply the total number of cycles by 1 making it 3 × 1 = 3. This will be the number of units (letters) in the last row.

The scanned journal page has a picture of a man riding a horse. This is a clue to one of the archived files on the LFoA website hidden backdoor list of words. The word "horseman" is the file for this episode. After completing the grasshopper cypher, using the words "HANDS" as our password. We need to pull as many words as possible from this file for later use. If we are to decrypt this file our Friend or Felix will send us the necessary equipment for doing so.
